Pilate therefore said to Him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth..." (John 18:37)
[Pilate] was aware that the chief priests had delivered Him up because of envy (Mark 15:10).
"... nothing deserving death has been done by Him" (Luke 23:15).
They kept on calling out, saying, "Crucify, crucify Him!" (Luke 23:21)...If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself out to be a king opposes Caesar" (John 19:12).
And Pilate pronounced sentence that their demand should be granted (Luke 23:24).
JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
The chief priests of the Jews were saying to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but that He said, 'I am King of the Jews.'" Pilate answered, "What I have written I have written" (John 19:21-22).
And it was the third hour when they crucified Him. (Mark 15:25)
"... for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong" (Luke 23:41).
And when the sixth hour had come, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour (Mark 15:33).
"Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani?"which is translated, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?" (34).
And Jesus crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into Thy hands I commit My spirit" (Luke 23:46).
"It is finished!"
The earth shook...many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised (Matthew 27:51-52).
And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom... the centurion, who was standing right in front of Him, saw the way He breathed His last, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God!" (Mark 15:38-39)
