The Burial of Jesus

A man named Joseph... a good and righteous man.... (Luke 23:50) gathered up the courage and went in before Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus (Mark 15:43).

The soldiers therefore came... when they saw that He as already dead, they did not break His legs... that the Scripture may be fulfilled, "NOT A BONE OF HIM SHALL BE BROKEN" (John 19:32,33, 36).

And [Joseph] laid Him in a tomb cut into the rock, where no one had ever lain (Luke 23:53).

"Give orders for the grave to be made secure until the third day, lest the disciples come and steal Him away and say to the people, 'He has risen from the dead,' and then last deception will be worse than the first" (Matthew 27:64).

"Make it as secure as you know how" (65).

And [Joseph] rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb (Mark 15:46).
