You know those weekends when every thing seems to go well When you don't have much to do, so you can actually just relax and enjoy the things around you? That was this past weekend. Not only was the San Diego weather
perfect, but the days were spent with three of my favorite friends!

It was nice to sit on the beach, study at Peet's, watch the game, make dinner, whatever-- without worrying about entertaining one another or forcing polite conversation (besides, we're pretty sassy the majority of the time). But the BEST part is we all love Jesus. Which meant going to church on Sunday and sharing what we learned in our quiet times and praising the Lord for the beauty of Carlsbad.

Among the many highlights of the trip (including lunch with Mary, home-cooked meals, and Uconn advancing to the finals) was the message we heard Sunday morning at a local church, The Fields. Dr. Julius Kim spoke on Matthew 5:38-42-- turn the other cheek, give up your cloak, go the extra mile, give to those who borrow/beg. Jesus expects us to follow these commands, but only because He followed through with them as well. Literally. See Chapter 27. Jesus turns the other cheek. He gave up His cloak. He went the extra mile. He gave up His spirit to those who borrow/begged.
Bah! That blew my mind. It still does. God's Word is so interconnected. No human brain could orchestrate that kind of story.
And now for some more of my favorite pictures.

Jumping pictures. Not exactly our forte. |
